Guest Stella Posted August 21, 2003 Report Posted August 21, 2003 hi all - I've just got off the phone with orange inquiring about the E-100 and they told me I'd have to pay £100 for an upgrade and £129 for a handset dose this sound reasonable to everyone?
Guest blewer Posted August 21, 2003 Report Posted August 21, 2003 If you have had your contract for less than 12 months then you will have to pay the upgarde fee. I think £100 is a bit steep though. How long have you got left on your current contract?
Guest Stella Posted August 21, 2003 Report Posted August 21, 2003 runs out may 04, the chap said something along the lines of orange not making any money from the handset thats why there's a upgrade fee - £100 though, maybe I should cancel my contract and get a new one, mind you there's probably a cancellation fee as well.
Guest zeta101 Posted August 21, 2003 Report Posted August 21, 2003 yeah theres a cancellation fee i think. You see the idea is that they offer the phones to you for a lower cost but make the money back from the monthly contract payments, so you cant blame them for charging upgrade/cancellations fees really.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 21, 2003 Report Posted August 21, 2003 With 9 months to go £100 is a good deal. In October I had 1 month to go and they wanted £75 If you cancel your contract you are liable for the remaining line rental unless you have an insurance deal to get around this.
Guest superflysi Posted August 22, 2003 Report Posted August 22, 2003 and if you have decent size bills nearing when your upgrade time comes ..... get put through to disconnections- tell them that ideally you wanted SPVE100 but you wouldnt mind changing Service provider to get a better phone ---- then you might get one free like me :)
