realtime signal strength?

i was wondering if there was any software that could show your signal strength bars in real time? i notice that it takes around 10+ seconds to show the actual signal strength..

on my old t68i, i was able to press my hand against the top of the phone and see the signal go down a couple bars instantly. it was much easier finding a signal that way in a house where there was hardly any signal..

Possibly in the new update? Perhaps, maybe, we can wish :)
