Legal way to get Mitac Java

Hi,

Noticed none of the published Mitac Java downloads work. And I don't agree with the illegal links being distributed, so what to do?...

Well, Mitac may appear to have withdrawn access to their service site, but in fact it is still there and publicly available through completely legal means.

Just do the following:

1. Go to http://www.mitac-mtc.com.tw/

2. Click on the "Technical Support" link at the top of the page.

3. Click on the "All Downloads" tab.

4. Select "Smartphone" from the Step 1 list box.

5. Select "Smartphone" again and click the Go button below Step 2.

6. The download page appears with all the manuals and the Java download in APCD v20.zip.

Just download and follow the instructions in the other postings to install.

Happy Java-ing!

Damn.

Looks like Mitac closed this particular avenue.

Well... just got to read the legal blurb supplied with the downloads to see if I can legally redistribute... please bear with me, I may be gone for some time...

5.  Select "Smartphone" again and click the Go button below Step 2.

I cannot find the Smartphone in step 2 mate. And if I choose all file, only the manual and a usb driver come up.

any idea?

Hi,

Read the post above yours. Unfortunately, Mitac have removed the files from the site.

Cheers,

Hey Damianlewis,

I had a question. I was able to install the mitac java software on my mpx200 no problem but now what can I do with it?

I was hoping to be able to actually run .jar or .jad files, maybe even some java games. Unfortunately I haven't been able to do anything with this java software.

Do you have any ideas what I could do with it?

thanks,

Glenn
