Specifically; What will I have to do with my phone when i arrive? What are the costs for; a) recieving texts/mms :) sending text/mms c) gprs d) phoning a landline in the USA from my mobile What's the reception like when outside of cities? Thanks for any info (PS; I have tried searching for this info)
Guest ashley.flynn Posted August 21, 2003 Report Posted August 21, 2003 hey there, make sure you call orange BEFORE you go and get international roaming unblocked! when you get there change your band setting to PCS I think, although im not sure, txt msgs are cheaper, calls are moe expensive. I wouldnt expect GPRS to work im staying on the east coast and outside of a city and i cannot get any signal whatsoever :) For info on charging the battery see this thread; http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php...7380&highlight= You may also want to PM a user called 'encece'. He seems like a nice guy and lives in the US. Hope this all helps
Guest nobznss Posted August 21, 2003 Report Posted August 21, 2003 I think it all depends on who your cell provider is. Prices of text messages differ from one carrier to another. T-Mobile in the states is by far the cheapest... well at least for my area.
Guest nickcornaglia Posted August 21, 2003 Report Posted August 21, 2003 I would love to help but know nothing about international roaming. T-Mobile has a service if you're based in the US and traveling, but not vice-versa short of a 1-yr contract. No PAYG service.
