Guest frarnold Posted August 23, 2003 Report Posted August 23, 2003 Hi guys, maybe anyone has a great idea to help me. I want to add some fixed icons on my Home screen for Internet URLs or programs. Hm, I found some really great examples here like in http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php...p=278228#278228 and copied them onto my i-Mate... just they aren't working. It appears that the registry for me lacks some entries that the Orange ones have like: clsid="{A1536C57-6AC2-4c31-9542-B144B0E9D076}" clsid="{A1536C57-6AC2-4c31-9542-B144B0E9D076}" clsid="{A1536C57-6AC2-4c31-9542-B144B0E9D076}" Ny question: does anyone know what I need to install to make it run on my i-Mate as well - or how I need to tweak the registry... Cheers Frank
Guest Richie M Posted September 2, 2003 Report Posted September 2, 2003 Yeah, the shortcut plug-in is only available with the Orange ROM, and unfortunatley the phone does not allow you to copy stuff out of the ROM. also, unfortunately it is not just a case of copying the required dll either as you have to register it, which can be done with a CAB, but the legality of posting/distributing the dll (if you can get it) is a grey area :? The reg enteries you mention are the reference to the Orange plug-in.
Guest frarnold Posted September 2, 2003 Report Posted September 2, 2003 Thanks, Ritchie... that's damn disappointing since I also haven't found any decent 3rf party plug-ins either yet... Ah, there is hope  Are you answering this as Ritchie or as the Iraqui information minister... that could have a certain impact on your credibility, mate :)
