Guest akiba Posted August 23, 2003 Report Posted August 23, 2003 A newbie to the SPV E100 Recieved phone and followed instructions for the charging battery ie from new a 3hr + charge. Phone indicates its charged and off we go. Except that I am getting a maximum of 9hr on stand-by ie the phone is switched on and thats it no calls etc! Spoke with orange (a trainer?)and they advised a 60hr conditioning charge? Can anyone advise on this or do I have a duff battery? :)
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 23, 2003 Report Posted August 23, 2003 Conditioning charge is worth while, but 60hrs  he talking out of where the sun don't shine  On a first charge I would leave the phone in for as long as possible (personally about 8 hours min) If you do not get an improvement then ask for a replacement.
Guest superflysi Posted August 25, 2003 Report Posted August 25, 2003 mine is shite as well........... but been turning the thing off over night and charging ...and it seems to be improving the amount of time the batt is useful .... its still pretty appauling though..... :)
Guest amo Posted August 25, 2003 Report Posted August 25, 2003 My understanding of conditioning the battery was to let it run flat, charge it for 16 hours. Let it run flat again and then charge for another 16 hours.
Guest goinnuts Posted August 25, 2003 Report Posted August 25, 2003 isnt that old nicad batts. new lithium dooberrys dont suffer memory los.
Guest Posted August 26, 2003 Report Posted August 26, 2003 isnt that old nicad batts. new lithium dooberrys dont suffer memory los. Yup - NiCads needed reconditioning charges every now and then, NiMh batteries less so, and Li-ions even less (although it's still work a try). akiba: Sounds like it could be a duff one, you should be getting more than 9hrs standby (although the SPV doesn't have the best battery life in the world!).
