Guest 4N1L Posted August 23, 2003 Report Posted August 23, 2003 Hello All After much ooh-ing and ah-ing i finally purchased an SPV e100 this afternoon. All is well and good exept for this one dead pixel, slap bang in the middle of my screen. Its only really noticable in the start up screen & in certain apps. Just wanted to know if this really a good enough reason to ask the Orange shop to relpace it for me. If everyone suffers from the odd dead pixel i wont bother. Also would be grateful if someone could recommend a good screen protector or direct me to a relevant thread. Thanks in advance
Guest Brody Posted August 23, 2003 Report Posted August 23, 2003 I've got a new e100 (thanks again to Paul and Orange!) and it too has a dead pixel although luckily its at the bottom of the screen and so barely visible. I would complain about one in the middle of the screen personally. As for phone protection, I just bought the Krussell case for the e100 and it is a very snug fit and so doesn't increase the size of the phone much at all, it might be worth a look... http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/1937.htm
Guest martin Posted August 23, 2003 Report Posted August 23, 2003 I would log this fault with customer services (the sooner the better). State that the phone was purchased with this dead pixel and request a replacement phone.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted August 23, 2003 Report Posted August 23, 2003 None here. Most displays come with a minimum dead pixel guarantee though, so just one may not qualify you for replacement...
Guest 4N1L Posted August 23, 2003 Report Posted August 23, 2003 Ok guys, thanks for your (prompt) help! Brody - I was after one of those flimsy plastic film things that stick to your screen but that case doesn't look too big so i may order one. Cheers!
Guest martin Posted August 23, 2003 Report Posted August 23, 2003 None here either. I don't think I've ever seen a dead pixel in an SPV so maybe I'm assuming that it can be cleary seen. Should we have a poll to see how many people have a dead pixel
Guest Maverick Posted August 23, 2003 Report Posted August 23, 2003 You can still try for a replacement.... I think Orange has a 14-day return policy... Which means you can return the phone if you are not happy. Best thing is to go back to the outlet where you got it from... instead of calling up Orange. I got a SPV with a faulty GPRS ... Within a couple of days after buying it, I got it replaced..
Guest Pagemakers Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 Did you ever get it replaced? I have a dead pixel in my MPX200
Guest 4N1L Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 Yep, i went back to the store and had it replaced under the 14 days return policy. Personally i recommend that you get it replaced whilst you still can because eventually it will get to you (it was driving me crazy after three days)!! How are you finding the mpx200 in comparison to your E100? I'm considering upgrading from my E100 but wanted to know how the screens compare and whether the battery life has improved at all (my E100 typically lasts a day).
Guest Pagemakers Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 I have the E200. The Moto fares very well with the SPV. Its battery life is much much better but its screen is not so good. The SPV has the edge but the Moto has far fewer bugs and it has voice dialling! Posted from my SmartPhone!
