Guest sebbz Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Hi; What's the difference between SPV and SPV E100 except the looks?
Guest squall Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 not to much really, the e100's alot more robust, has a joystick. software wise its got a later release of smartphone 2002, and comes with a times city guide.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Correction: A damn nice screen :) Definately worth it over SPV's
Guest squall Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 the e100 looks great, the screen is damn good, but even the leds under the buttons look cool
Guest idavid Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 well, i wouldn't know would i... [sob, sob] :)
Guest dinoalbert Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 its got a built-in IA Album/ IA Camera :)
Guest squall Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 oh just found out from zim that that SMART version of the phone does come with IA. the uk orange e100 doesnt
Guest morpheus2702 Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Simply put the biggest differences are: 1) E-100 has a keypad like a T68i that is great to use, great for texting and doesn't give you cramp 2) E-100 has a properly backlit screen (not sidelit) so your mates with Samsung's won't embaress you 3) Overall the E-100 is MUCH better phone design - no arkward angles, nicer to hold, better to use.
Guest squall Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 id say if you can afford the difference in price go for the e100. i had 2 spvs scratched easily, and paint pealed off. e100 is stornger and better looking.
Guest Pondrew Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Errr... I was comparing my SPV with an E100 in the shop a couple of days ago. Am I the only one who's noticed that the E100 is BIGGER then the SPV? Because I see that as a disadvantage. Also I didn't much like the new joystick and am pleased to hear the SPV2 will revert to the old directional control. Just my five pence worth...
Guest morpheus2702 Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Sure, it is slightly taller... but a much better design overall. Do people seriously prefer the directional controller over the joystick?!?
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted August 25, 2003 Report Posted August 25, 2003 I think a more sturdy version of the D-pad would be better than the joystick, i find i occasionally hit a direction instead of action. This increase in length is to accomodate the more sapcious keypad. I see the benefit of the nicer keyboard a greater advantage over a few millimetres extra height.
Guest PsychoDave Posted August 25, 2003 Report Posted August 25, 2003 Gotta agree with Mono there :) I seem to hit up at the same time as action quite a bit with the joystick which I didn't ever do with the D-pad but at the end of the day the E100's screen makes everything much better and it's worth gettin the e100 over the SPV just for that. Plus like Ian said the E100 seems like it'll take a bit more punishment(!) then the SPV. I've had a couple now and they all get scratched no matter how careful I am with them. Just the ramblings of an overtired muppit though so feel free to ignore. ;)
