Guest Myke Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 doesnt look that impressive besides the extra memory. is it bluetooth enabled? they arent releasing the 2002 under the 2003 name out there, are they?
Guest Jasonkruys Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 doesnt look that impressive besides the extra memory. is it bluetooth enabled? they arent releasing the 2002 under the 2003 name out there, are they? The extra memory isn't all that impressive either. The only reason it has the extra memory is so it can adequately support the chinese language / text
Guest SaudK Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 looks identical to the SPV!!!
Guest Vector Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 looks identical to the SPV!!! That is because it is the same HTC canary model that was used for the SPV, with a bit more memory :)
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Nothing special. Just an SPV running WM SP2k3, no improved hardware specs. Still, i wouldn't say no to have a play with the next gen OS.
Guest lazyjarl Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Agree. The hardware spec is not as good as MITAC MIO 8380. Moreover, it doesn't have a built-in camara. BTW, I haven't found any text saying it supports bluetooth, so I would assume it doesn't.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 It won't. Not unless they seriously fiddled the insides. There is no BT in the SPV version of the Canary, and i very much doubt there will be in the Dopod Canary.
Guest kyrkesmith Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Why did they choose the Canary design rather than the Tanger? Also, is it not the case that Orange have exclusive rights to the Canary design, or has that expired now?
Guest Crispy Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 Then the interesting question arises: Are there any english Dopod updates out there? And will they work on a Standard Canary/Tanager? Edit: I case you were wondering, no, there are no updates on their website!
Guest TheCardinal Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 i would love to have a play on this phone the OS side is what im waiting for. Compact Framework! So we could create more FREEBIES! :)
Guest nickcornaglia Posted August 25, 2003 Report Posted August 25, 2003 They're probably Orange's modified leftovers.
