Guest poofy Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 currently i'm downloading the eurotel update. i am using SAP with a smart 1.3 version, unlock. need to know the ff: 1. what is bootloader, where do i find it? 2. what is tri color canary? 3. how do i upgrade? 4. how do i back up ipsm? tnx guys.

" -You don't need it since you have smart 1.3. "2. what is tri color canary?" 3. how do i upgrade?" -Tri color canary screen is where you must do the upgrade else it won't work since you're upgrading to a different ROM (Smart to Eurotel). You can go there by turning your phone off then holding REC + Power On. Make sure your usb cable is connected to phone and PC. Also, you need to plug in the power supply. "4. how do i back up ipsm?" -There's a software called USBTerm that will let you backup your IPSM to storage card (MM or SD Card). Problem is when upgrading to either qtek and eurotel, I think the previously created IPSM via smart 1.3 will be automatically erased. So if you restore, I assume it will be erased again.

Guest dinoalbert Posted September 7, 2003 Report Posted September 7, 2003 swerte mo 1.3.7 palang ang rom mo :) To upgrade to Qtek rom: 1. download the Qtek rom from: http://www.qtek.nu/files/Qtek150.zip 2. backup your data...sync your phone (contacts, calendar, etc) with your PC through Active Sync. 3. turn off your phone, start the phone by holding in the record button and at the same time press the power button, till you get to the three color "Canary" screen (strap mode). 4. run the Qtek rom file from your PC...wait until its finished (takes about 20 minutes)....remember to keep your phone plugged in to the power source throughout the whole process 5. when its done, restart your phone, then create a new partnership with your PC (delete first the old partnership) and restore/sync your data read this thread: http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=90189 http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=88509 read the "How To..." file attached by pzee

I heard about the i-mate rom 1.50.8 and I have downloaded it. It supports the t9 english as mentioned. Can I upgrade from the Qtek 7070 version I have 1.50.9 to the i-mate version? Should I follow the same steps when upgraded from the SAP 1.3.7.8 to the Qtek 1.50.9 ?
