Guest fde Posted August 24, 2003 Report Posted August 24, 2003 (Swiss) Operator 1.5.0.3 Manuf: 1.5.0.3 MS: 3.0.13037.0 Lang: 1.5.0.3 FS: 3.0.13037.0 Observed phenomenon twice now and only since doing the last ROM upgrade to 1.5.0.3. Description: Phone is on and fully working, but backlight won't go off (for hours and despite settings). If the phone is powered off and switched on again it perfectly boots taking it slightly longer to come up with the sim code prompt. After sim code is correctly entered, "add config" is started and "ipsm check" is run. Then the phone reboots as if it were the first boot after a hard reset. After the reboot all configurations (homescreen, keyclicks ...) are lost, the desktop partnership is broken and worst: the phone is re-certified. Anybody experienced similar behaviour? Any remedy? Regards Frank
Guest kyrkesmith Posted August 25, 2003 Report Posted August 25, 2003 Is it the settings for the backlight in Power Management you're chatting about? I recognize that it's a bit more of a problem than that, but if it's just the aforementioned you're changing, try what I've posted here.
Guest fde Posted August 26, 2003 Report Posted August 26, 2003 Thank's for your support. Probably that won't do. My assumption is that the registry somehow becomes corrupt while the phone is on (which could be the reason that backlight doesn't go off). Upon booting the integrity check of the registry fails and the phone replaces the registry with a generic (empty) registry. However, I have no clue which application or process might corrupt the registry. Regards, Frank
Guest kyrkesmith Posted August 26, 2003 Report Posted August 26, 2003 Might be that someone else on this forum knows what to do, but if it were my phone, I'd get it replaced/fixed under warranty.
