I just sold my SPV.

I had the trial of Orange 1.56 on the phone.

I couldn't ship the phone with that ROM so I downgraded to 1.3.5.6.

Now the radio won't go on.

I've tried my SIM in another phone and it works.

Any ideas what's going on?

I didn't fry my phone did I?

Checked the Band selection settings are correct?

Tried a hard reset and checked the settings again?

re-ran the 1.3.5.6 update....no good.

Multiple Hard Resets....no good.

Switched between PCS and Dual Band multiple times....no good.

Re-Installed 1.56.....radio works again.

Guess you can't downgrade the ROM?

Thanks for your help.

Hmm thats a point. It's possible the 1.3.5 doesn't change the GSM layer, whereas i believe 1.56 does. So downgrading to 1.3.5 will still be using 1.56 GSM, which seems to be incompatible...

Try digging out one of the foreign ROM updates, Eurotek/Qtek/I-Mate, see if any of them update GSM as well.

I added the Eurotel ROM. Works fine. Just have to check with the buyer to see if it's okay since they were expecting the Orange ROM. Is the Eurotel ROM decerted?

I guess it's not application locked as I just installed and ran SmartExplorer.
