activesync connection problem

when i connect my spv to my pc with the cradle ,activesync dosn't start up and i get massage saying:the tcp/ip network transport is not installed.

i have removed activesync and reinstalled it but the problem still occurs.

any help would be helpful

TCP/IP must be installed if you use it on a network or on the internet...?

I was also getting this on boot up and its was due to my PC security software blocking it.

i am using xp pro. I think the problem started when i did a windows update after that it didnt work .any ideas will be most helpful
