Guest stvthms6 Posted August 26, 2003 Report Posted August 26, 2003 Im sure many of you have thought whilst listening to a tune through that tiny speaker " why cant I get some speakers for my SPV?" Well ive been trying to figure how I can do this and Im completely gazumped!! Has anybody actually got some 2.5mm speakers to work or done some sort of conversion. Im sure im not the only one who will be grateful
Guest Vector Posted August 26, 2003 Report Posted August 26, 2003 You can buy 2.5>3.5 adapters from Maplins (try a forum search for 2.5 adapters) ;) And as for speakers then, these are absolutely amazing: Creative Travel Speakers :)
Guest stvthms6 Posted August 26, 2003 Report Posted August 26, 2003 i thought that but if you look at the jack on the spv headset it has 3 black stripes on it where a stereo normally has 2 . So i thought i might have a problem....But if you have tried it and it works fine i would be pleased
Guest Vector Posted August 26, 2003 Report Posted August 26, 2003 yup, it works fine for me, with headphones aswell as speakers, i get stereo sound :)

Guest mcwarre Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but the third 'stripe' is for the mic, which just becomes redundant when using a stereo only adapter. Go on then. The stripes (black) are isolaters between the 4 conductors (gold-ish) (mic, stereo left, stereo right and earth) :) ;) An adapter will still have to have the right amount of isolators/conductors but in a pair of headphones the mic (+ possibly earth) is not connected.
Guest Flash Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 I didn't mean that the actual stripe was the mic, just that this created a another contact for the mic. So, was I right then? ;-)
Guest stvthms6 Posted September 7, 2003 Report Posted September 7, 2003 Thanks to all!! bought a 2.5 to 3.5 adaptor and it works fine!!
