something funny happened on the way to Kwik Save.

I was on my way to Kwik Save on the bus, i was checking the football scores and the phone froze. After rebooting the dreaded camper van and standard orange homescreen appeared, key tones were back on, all standard orange URL's had re-appeared in my favourites as had the standard numbers in the phone book. Nothing had been removed. All the contacts, custom sounds and images were still in place. Even the demo Windows media film was back on. All the settings on the phone had been reset back to factory, so was this a partial hard reset ? i reckon so.

I cannot really believe how much i've changed the appearance and behaviour of the phone since it came out of it's box. It took me bloody ages to set everything back up. What i'm after is the Pass thru fix. As i can't connect to the net via work net connection and get instant messanger to connect (when not connected to the docking station). i've done a search for the pass thru fix, but got bogged down in the GPRS settings sticky. any help would be appreciated.

If you go to PC activesynch options and set the through connection to 'Work' and then back to 'The Internet' it should re-appear in the SPV options for internet connection.

If the connection is set to "the internet" there is no work connection available. If it is set to "work" the option becomes available. If i attempt to connect to a web page the phone dials out via GPRS, NOT over the work connection.

If i've got Internet Connection to set to "Automatic"

Work Connection : Pass through connection

WAP connection : Orange GPRS.

any ideas ?

If you set the work connection as your pass through then you will have to change IE to 'Select Network=My Corporate Network' & untick 'Auto Detect settings' when you want to use it.

I think most people set the through connection to 'The Internet' in the PC Activesynch settings and then make the 'Internet Connection=Automatic' in the SPV. This Internet conenction should then change automatically between the GPRS WEB and the through connection depending on whether the SPV is plugged into the USB cable. For this to work correctly I think you have to point the GPRS WAP data to something other than The Internet to avoid this being an option (three's a crowd).
