Guest Lordsmiff Posted August 27, 2003 Report Posted August 27, 2003 Hello :) I've just tried the EUROTEL ROM update on my SPV E100 and sure enough, it works fine, is de-certified and has IA Album on the ROM. Someone had written in another topic that it has an English T9 dictionary which I can confirm, it most defintely does not (apart from one or two words ;) So, I'm a bit stuck - can anyone tell me where I can download the orange 1.5 version that came on the phone originally, or, even better, the 1.6 beta :D It woud be really nice if someone from orange took pity on someone who likes experimenting with this stuff and said I could have the beta ;-) Cheers, T.
Guest Will Posted August 27, 2003 Report Posted August 27, 2003 OK firstly OOPS! you installed an update from another carrier!, this can be happily done, and is reversable, but not ADVISED.. If you do downgrade or upgrade, I suggest keeping full rom backups, before you do this. I have heard that some orange shops can flash the phone to the 'original' OS, ie 1.5 in the case of the e100, but i've never tried it. If you know someone with an e100 you could download their relevant rom sections, and try to reflash the phone, or else downgrade to version 1.3.4 using www.monolithix.org's update. When you say the t9 does not work, are you definately using the t9englis.dll? and have the phone language set to english?? Will
Guest Lordsmiff Posted August 27, 2003 Report Posted August 27, 2003 Advised, schmadvised (or something :) To quote the survey I've just filled in, I like technology for technology's sake and messing with stuff like this doesn't worry me (even after I tried downgrading and the phone didn't work, I only had mild palpitations ;) Anyway, *looks down in shame at his own ignorance* I wasn't aware you could change the t9 dll - I've set the regional options to UK but this hasn't affected tha language (trying to type "testing" still comes up with "vertioh") - is there somewhere else you can change the SMS language or is it a reg hack (he asks even as he reaches to install his editor) :D Cheers, Tony.
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted August 30, 2003 Report Posted August 30, 2003 There's a program called T9 Config - that should do the job... Get it here: >>Click Me
Guest Lordsmiff Posted August 31, 2003 Report Posted August 31, 2003 Cool! Thanks for the tip - I'll give it a try :) Cheers, T.
Guest sabio_proeliat Posted September 1, 2003 Report Posted September 1, 2003 Where can I find the .dll files for example a swedish one? A swedish t9 then!
