Guest nikjensie Posted August 27, 2003 Report Posted August 27, 2003 I read somewhere that DivX makes smaller filesthan a MPG... Using Clint Eastwoods Settings in Virtual Dub to encode a Seinfeld episode made it 64MB big... Using TMPGEnc into MPG file it took 30MB.... What am I doing wrong? Nik
Guest siu99spj Posted September 1, 2003 Report Posted September 1, 2003 Check that you are encoding the sound into an MP3. Thats usually the biggest reason for larger files. It could also be that the bitrate is too high or even its not properly being encoded into DivX. Unfortunately, its kinda hard to know exactly what you're missing. Best bet is if you load the file (in Windows, not on the SPV), right click on the video (Whilst its playing) and choose Properties. From their you can check to see that both a DivX and MP3 filter are being used. If not, its not encoded properly. Hope this helps.
