Guest Rob.P Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 [moderators feel free to delete if I'm repeating a thread, did do a search but couldn't find anything] Anyone using the text email alert on there hotmail/MSN account? To start off with there were no charges involved, but Ornage suddenly thought they could do with a bit extra cash and so now charge for this service, I found out by accident, one month no charges, the next just shy of £20 worth on those txt alerts alone. If I missed this annoucement and someone else didn't point me in the direction of it please.
Guest kyrkesmith Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 Originally, Orange didn't offer the service, but Vodafone did, so I just chose Vodafone from the list, and it worked! I don't think I got charged for receiving messages. I've switched it off now, because it annoyed me. Try it, it may work.
Guest fraser Posted August 31, 2003 Report Posted August 31, 2003 Doesn't work anymore unfortunately. You need to get a confirmation number from a test SMS, but all you get when you try this is a snotty message saying that you aren't on Vodafone.
