Guest chucky.egg Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 For those of us that want to Sync with a diary in MS Exchange Public Folders... OK, I know this is a REALLY ugly solution, but it's all I could come up with at the moment. If I can find a way to automate it I will post an update. Basically you export your Public Folders diary/calendar to a PST file, and then import that into your local diary/calendar. If you set small-ish date ranges it doesn't take long (30 secs +/-) Attached are notes, that I just followed and tested and seem to work reliably. If you have problems try being less restrictive with your date ranges. If anybody has a nicer solution I'd love to hear about it!Instructions to copy public folder diary to local calendar.txt
Guest chucky.egg Posted August 29, 2003 Report Posted August 29, 2003 ** Update ** One of my colleagues has pointed out that this doesn't really count as Syncing, because you are extracting the calendar and copying it. Changes made to your SPV calendar will not be replicated to the Public Folders calendar. He's right, but 2-way sync would be a nightmare to manage, and for my purposes this is "good enough" for now. Still not automated yet, but revised notes so that repeated imports dont create duplicate entries in your local calendar... Still interested in a better solution - there must be one!Instructions to copy public folder diary to local calendar.txt
