Hard Reset Resulted in INVALID SIM

Hi,

I just got a Tanager E100, and I wanted to clear out the contacts and such, so I performed a hard reset on it per the insturctions I found on this forum. Immediately after the reset, (which I might add is a pain in the ass), I powered my phone back up, and it gets to the main desktop for second, then goes to a screen that says Invalid Sim, contact service care. If someone could lend a hand I would be very grateful.

Thanks

Take the SIM in and out again, to ensure its making proper contact with the socket. If you still have issues try another hard reset.

Pull out the battery and it's sitting underneath. It has the normal click down and flip out arrangement.

Ok,

I am not seeing a card the sim slot is empty. I bought this phone on e-bay. It was booting before, I am totally confused. Do I need to get a SIM card from a service provider?

Thanks

Er....yeah, afraid so. If you aren't planning on using it as a phone (no calls/sms/mms/gprs) then stick any SIM in, tap the power button once and select "radio off". This will turn the phone side of the handset off and allow you to use the non-GSM features.

Ok,

Where would I aquire a generic sim? I really appreciate the help. I am just confused because before the hard reset it was booting fine.

Presumably it already had the radio off.

I genteric SIm, don't know. Take a look on your countries mobile operator websites and see if they sell PAYG SIM cards.
