Guest sweetyls Posted August 31, 2003 Report Posted August 31, 2003 help! i've been trying to remove some programs (from the remove programs) i installed before, but i always get the error msg "...could not be removed from your phone." i think i deleted some essential files. I tried reinstalling the program, but it says it can't be installed.

Guest spv_dman Posted August 31, 2003 Report Posted August 31, 2003 using smartexplorer or similar application on your phone, delete the contents of IPSMWindowsAppMgrInstall Then try to reinstall the problematic application, tapos do the unistallation.

Guest sweetyls Posted September 1, 2003 Report Posted September 1, 2003 i tried installing again after i deleted d appinstall key, but my phone hangs. try ko ulit
Guest Geeklord Posted September 2, 2003 Report Posted September 2, 2003 When you try "removing" the program, do you get an error message that goes something like: "unable to delete files...so and so?" Either try a quick reset (if you don't have the quickreset app, just turn off your phone and turn it on again) before you remove your apps. The reason for this is that the app you're trying to remove may be in use and the system cannot alter it while it's in use. Or try the other way around: remove your program, ignore the message and restart your phone. sometimes the system needs to refresh in order to realize that it has already deleted your file.
Guest sweetyls Posted September 3, 2003 Report Posted September 3, 2003 the error message says "...could not be removed." i tried resetting, it just won't uninstall. i tried deleting it from the registry, but it says "unable to perform operation" or something like that.

Guest randy Posted September 4, 2003 Report Posted September 4, 2003 it happened to me too. hard reset lang ang katapat.
Guest sweetyls Posted September 4, 2003 Report Posted September 4, 2003 wait, ang hard reset ba... wouldn't that delete EVERYTHING?
Guest spv_dman Posted September 4, 2003 Report Posted September 4, 2003 wait, ang http://smartphone.MoDaCo.com/viewtopic.php?p=97945#97945>Hard Reset ba... wouldn't that delete EVERYTHING? Yep! Everything in IPSM or internal storage like contacts, calendars, sms, installed programs. If you want you can come over tomorrow and I'll see baka maremedyuhan pa. Just be sure to install Smart Explorer and PHM registry editor.
Guest sweetyls Posted September 5, 2003 Report Posted September 5, 2003 ei, spv_dman... thanks! walang pag-asa nga lang phone ko. will try to hard reset it instead.
Guest rodnav Posted September 5, 2003 Report Posted September 5, 2003 @sweetyls did you install from the pc with an installer? have you tried uninstalling your programs from your pc? then try reinstalling them. you maybe able to removing afterwards. i've experienced this once and was able to resolve it after tweaking around with it without a hard reset. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest sweetyls Posted September 6, 2003 Report Posted September 6, 2003 actually what i did was i deleted exe files without uninstalling them from the remove programs. kala ko kasi since they're exe files naman, they can be uninstalled by simply deleting the file. di pala pwede un. so i'm stuck with those programs. no pc installer.
Guest mariolouis Posted September 6, 2003 Report Posted September 6, 2003 pag dinelete mo na yung install folder, install mo ulit yung app. then uninstall.
Guest dinoalbert Posted September 6, 2003 Report Posted September 6, 2003 yeah just Install...then reboot...then Uninstall...then reboot....then Install again...then reboot again....yan sigurado malinis na yan :) btw, when you install again, make sure you install it to the same location (IPSM or SD) as before
