Guest casperr Posted August 31, 2003 Report Posted August 31, 2003 What do you guys prefer when playing music? I have tried encoding an mp3 file to wma and ogg files (vorbis) both at 64kbps and wma came out smaller in size and better in quality. I tried playing it on my desktop computer and wma really sounds better. But according to ejoya (who unlocked my phone and upraded to QTEK for free, THANKS A LOT), vorbis files are better for him, sounds much better. THis made me really wonder. I will try reencoding some other files again. How about you guys, what do you prefer?
Guest spv_dman Posted August 31, 2003 Report Posted August 31, 2003 For me, I'd still prefer mp3 as it will save me a lot of time in doing conversions. Lots of sound files in p2p network are available kasi in mp3 format. Kaya I'd rather leave the format as is. What I do is delete some old songs then copy some new ones. And I'm using 256mb sd card so I have that luxury of storing couple of songs :) To choose between wma and ogg files, mas ok yata yung wma 8)
Guest mariolouis Posted August 31, 2003 Report Posted August 31, 2003 sound quality-wise, mp3 is better of course. ogg files is larger and wma sounds better but it is really the player that determines which is better. you can only differentiate it if there was a player would play both wma ang ogg.
Guest ejoya Posted August 31, 2003 Report Posted August 31, 2003 ogg sounds better than wma and mp3... try to convert an audio cd directly to ogg... not audio cd - mp3 - ogg or audio cd - wma - ogg... you'll see the difference in low bitrates.. in high bitrates.. u wont hear the difference anyway.. if you try to convert mp3 to ogg.. mp3 will surely win.. no doubt.. :)
