Guest Pagemakers Posted September 1, 2003 Report Posted September 1, 2003 Just recently I have started to occasionally get "Can not resolve items" when using Activesync. I have not changed an item on both the phone or PC to cause this. The only way to cure the problem is to close and reopen Activesync on my PC by rebooting, then synchronisation is OK again. I have un-installed and re-installed Activesync but the problem persists. Any ideas what might be causing this?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 1, 2003 Report Posted September 1, 2003 I have had this before it lasted for a while, but the problem then dissappeared. not much help I know but at least you are not alone with the problem.
Guest srs11 Posted September 1, 2003 Report Posted September 1, 2003 I had this problem from day one and then I worked out that if I changed my Mcafee firewall setting to "allow all" then everything was ok. Obviously I disconnected from the tinternet while I was doing this and then put the firewall back on filter before restarting the tinternet.
Guest Pagemakers Posted September 3, 2003 Report Posted September 3, 2003 Sorted. This was the problem located at this very helpful site: http://www.cewindows.net/faqs/unresolveditems.htm SYMPTOMS If you use ActiveSync 3.1 to synchronize a mobile device with Microsoft Outlook, the synchronization process may be unsuccessful, and then you receive an Attention Required dialog box. If you click Resolve Items, you receive the following message: Information Type Not Synchronized Items of one or more information types cannot be synchronized. Disconnect and reconnect your device. To view all error messages and dialog boxes that require your input, you must connect to this computer via infrared or serial/USB cable . CAUSE This behavior may occur if the Collaboration Data Objects (CDO) component is not installed for Outlook. RESOLUTION To resolve this issue, follow these steps. NOTE: Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. Double-click Add or Remove Programs, select Microsoft Office XP, and then click Change. After the Active Setup process starts, click Add or Remove Features. Expand the Microsoft Outlook for Windows node, click Collaboration Data Objects, click Run from My Computer, and then click Update Now.
