Hi guys,

Some of you may have seen my post on the news of the next SPV release slated for Q4 2003. However, I've got a couple of questions and I'm just really in need of a final bit of reassurance before taking the smartphone plunge!

Should I wait until the newer SPV is released rather than get an e100? I've heard many people saying it could be months and months but what would happen if I got the e100 and the new phone was released a month or so later? How likely is it that Orange would allow a swap (not very by my guessing! :))?

I currently have a Nokia phone, what are the main differences I'm going to notice moving to a Smartphone? (except the obvious bigger screen etc ;P)

Would any of you say that the size of your SPV is a hinderance at any time? Does it ever annoy you?

Would any of you swap your SPV for something else?

Many thanks in advance

Mike

The new one "might" be out very soon indeed, but nobody (including Orange Customer Services) is giving out an official launch date.

If you buy an e100 (which I've just done BTW) Orange wont swap it if something better comes along.

Moving from a Nokia what changes will you notice...

- Slower menus, but easier to navigate

- Better games and graphics, and WAV ringtones (for songs or voices)

- HTML format Email readable on the handset (with links etc)

- SMS and Email share one Inbox (annoys me!)

- HTML and WML browsing, MSN Messenger (others for £)

- MP3 etc, MPEG-1 video etc

It's quite a lot more than a traditional mobile, but bear in mind that not everything is suited to a handset (HTML browsing is hard work IMHO)

Size is no problem, and weight is actually nice - it feels solid

I would swap my e100 for... a good nights sleep (my son is teething), or a P800 (which I had and didn't like the size of - its the only one I'd go back to probably)
