ActiveSync Can't find my SPV

Hi y'all

Hope u cant help...

Activesync cant find my SPV... i've tried to install activesync from the CD i've got from orange but it says after i've unzipped the SmartICUsetup but ive get the message: Application manager cannot install this application on your mobile device due to an invalid setup file. Reinstall and try again.

i've tried to reinstall but it doesnt work :-(

i've also tried the configuration wizard but it tells that i have to connect my phone and it's connected in the original cradle that follows with phone...

are the CD u get with the phone unique? - beacause i've borrowed the CD from a friend because, i bought the phone used... that could be why..

i've got another idea why something is wrong:

I've got a PDA (HP 540) which is synchronized to my PC with activesync 3.5 via USB (windows XP) (the Active syng u get with the SPV CD is version 3.6)

Can i connect my units somehow, so i only use the active sync (3.5) that i already use on my PDA ? or do anyone got another idea ?

You need at least 3.6 to sync with the PC but one thing did you plug the cradle in before installing Activsync 3.6?

Also Microsoft now have 3.7 for download, this may be of use to you.

and remember only plug one device in at a time, activesync gets confused easily..

Might be best to remove all usb sync devices from teh hardware manager on your pc too..

i installed AS 3.7 took my usb out from the PDA and know it works!!! yeeehaaaaaaaaaa
