Guest m0tZ Posted September 2, 2003 Report Posted September 2, 2003 We don't hear anything about Neonode anymore....what's going on
Guest dshaugney Posted September 2, 2003 Report Posted September 2, 2003 I have no idea either, by looks of their site they may just just be getting ready to release it. But don't hold your breath. Originally I wanted to get the N1 but recently i've been tempted by the SPV e100.
Guest m0tZ Posted September 2, 2003 Report Posted September 2, 2003 hmm me2 but think it's taking to long to be released, can't wait anymore. But won't buy the SPV E100....then wait for the SPV2 :) But still thinking about the Neonode....totally cool design, NICE color display, touch screen etc...don't even think that SPV2 get these things ;)
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 2, 2003 Report Posted September 2, 2003 touch screen etc...don't even think that SPV2 get these things :) SPV and other Windows Smartphone devices will not have touch screens as it's not part of the standards set out by MS
Guest m0tZ Posted September 3, 2003 Report Posted September 3, 2003 SPV and other Windows Smartphone devices will not have touch screens as it's not part of the standards set out by MS warmer isn't neonode a smartphone ?????
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 3, 2003 Report Posted September 3, 2003 no not in the sence of a Windows powered Smartphone 2002 It's Windows CE 4.2
Guest m0tZ Posted September 4, 2003 Report Posted September 4, 2003 Ahh okay...thought it was the same 8)
Guest NederSoren Posted September 4, 2003 Report Posted September 4, 2003 guess that will mean the it wont work the curent smartphone sfotware then? (Apps games etc.) or is that wrong? Cuz if it doesn't work with the apps we have now, i dont see a future in this phone.. :) sorry..
Guest dshaugney Posted September 4, 2003 Report Posted September 4, 2003 Either way it won;t work, all the apps must be converted to the touch screen technology it uses. Although they say it's quite easy it still limits what you can use. Secondly the SPV e100 is way cheaper than the N1 when it comes out, by around £100 on ebay.

Like Awarner said its not Smartphone2002 OS --im sure there are lots of programs for Windows CE 4.2 sticking with smartphone myself---cant wait till 2003 comes out and i can get my hands on a bluetooth headset :)
Guest TFGBD Posted September 5, 2003 Report Posted September 5, 2003 Most Smartphone 2002 software will work unmodified on a PocketPC 2002 device. Programs will respond to a touch screen or mouse fine. Starting with CE 4.2 MS made available an implementation of Aygshell for use outside of PocketPC. This will allow many PocketPC programs to run unmodified on HPCs, and other such devices! So, the point is...quite a bit of PocketPC and Smartphone software should run if they included it in their platform... The Neonode is really nothing like a Smartphone though...its more along the lines of a PocketPC Phone edition device. I mean heck...it includes IE CE 5.5 or 6.0 :) BTW, Here is a screenshot of PocketNotepad Smartphone running on a PPC 2002 device: http://www.geocities.com/giant_bootleg_def.../pnotepadSP.jpg
