Guest NeilStewart Posted September 2, 2003 Report Posted September 2, 2003 I've just unlocked my SPV to allow the use of a new 02 sim card, which shows O2 - UK when on my (also unlocked) Nokia 8310... but when it is inserted in the SPV, it shows BT Cellnet. Anyone else have this problem?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 2, 2003 Report Posted September 2, 2003 It's not a problem as such just that the carriers name for O2 is not updated on the phone for some reason.
Guest NeilStewart Posted September 2, 2003 Report Posted September 2, 2003 Granted it doesn't stop the thing working - just odd? Is it embedded in the Smartphone software - and if not, how come it reports correctly on the 8310?? By the way - 300 texts and £10 calls for £10 a month on 02 - beats the pants off Orange's text deals...
Guest cpt_andy Posted September 2, 2003 Report Posted September 2, 2003 The same thing happens with my One2One SIM - other phones (correctly) display 'T-mobile', but my SPV still says 'One2One'. Doesn't affect it in any way, in fact it is better as T-mobile is a stupid name :) Cpt. Andy
Guest NeilStewart Posted September 2, 2003 Report Posted September 2, 2003 At least it doesn't show 'Rabbit' instead of Orange... Remember Rabbit? What WERE they thinking of?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 2, 2003 Report Posted September 2, 2003 All those little logo's in shop windows lol now that brings back memories :) As for the logo it's embedded on the phone.
Guest Will Posted September 2, 2003 Report Posted September 2, 2003 Operator Name it's coded in the rom, to read the number from the sim.. i guess some sim cards have older network numbers..? Depends on them matching to give the best new name!! Will
