Guest rodnav Posted September 3, 2003 Report Posted September 3, 2003 well, i don't think you can edit word documents exactly. as a matter of fact, the smartphone does not have a native program for even viewing MS office files. You can however view them very well with third party software, as to editing documents with this third party programs, i'm not too sure. What i do use is "Orneta Notepad" which can edit .txt files and you can write notes on the go.
Guest dinoalbert Posted September 3, 2003 Report Posted September 3, 2003 I think it can only view office document (.doc,.xls,.ppt, etc) using apps such as Repligo or Clear Vue)
Guest vwbeetle Posted September 3, 2003 Report Posted September 3, 2003 ok that clears it up very well. salamat.
Guest casperr Posted September 3, 2003 Report Posted September 3, 2003 Regarding Orneta Notepad, this isnt free right? Kasi I cant save any txt files i wanna save e, is this a limitation of a non full version notepad?
Guest dinoalbert Posted September 3, 2003 Report Posted September 3, 2003 I can save text files I created. Just click "save" then choose the folder where you want it to save, then click "choose", then type in the filename for that file
Guest casperr Posted September 3, 2003 Report Posted September 3, 2003 Ayaw talaga sa akin, I tried saving it to any folder on the phone memory or MMC, i always get the error message "Error, cant write into file". Ill try to play around again later
Guest pyke Posted September 6, 2003 Report Posted September 6, 2003 Ayaw talaga sa akin, I tried saving it to any folder on the phone memory or MMC, i always get the error message "Error, cant write into file". Ill try to play around again later orneta notepad is a freeware so dapat nakakapag-save ka.malamang ganito ang nangyari...you might have opened the same document twice kaya hindi mo siya ma-save.close everything using task manager. open the document u want to edit and save it.that should work.
Guest casperr Posted September 6, 2003 Report Posted September 6, 2003 It's sorted now thanks. I thought it creates a filename for me then I realize I have to manually input it.
Guest dinoalbert Posted September 7, 2003 Report Posted September 7, 2003 hmmm thats what I said in my post above :)
Guest crashbash Posted September 12, 2003 Report Posted September 12, 2003 I think it can only view office document (.doc,.xls,.ppt, etc) using apps such as Repligo or Clear Vue) dinoalbert, where can i dowload repligo or clear vue so that I can view doc/xls/ppt? is this a freeware?
Guest rodnav Posted September 12, 2003 Report Posted September 12, 2003 dinoalbert, where can i dowload repligo or clear vue so that I can view doc/xls/ppt? is this a freeware? these are not freeware, you can download trial versions that last for 15 days, after which you'd have to register to continue using them.
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted September 26, 2003 Report Posted September 26, 2003 I know some of you guys have this software already...PocketNotepad by Tillanosoft. Like Orneta notepad, it can: 1. Write notes and save as .txt extension 2. Edit files with .txt extension I associate all my .txt files with PocketNotepad (via RESCO Explorer). This allows me to OPEN .txt files for editing. ;) Yung experience ko kasi sa Orneta 1.06, pag in-associate ko .txt file (or open with) sa Orneta, di cya nabubuksan. Pag di mo namam ginalaw file association ng .txt, yung iexplorer ang default program na bubukas sa kanya...maSPAMsa mo lang, di ma-edit With Pocketnotepad, once a .txt file is clicked say using SmartExplorer, nag-open cya for viewing and at the same time pwede mo pa ma-edit. :wink:tillanosoft_notepad.gif
Guest dinoalbert Posted September 26, 2003 Report Posted September 26, 2003 yup....txt files are not opened automatically by Orneta Notepad but by IE instead. Anyway you can just open the Orneta notepad program first then select the .txt file you wish to open/edit. But from what you said, I guess mas okay nag siguro ang PocketNotepad ;)
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted September 26, 2003 Report Posted September 26, 2003 ..Anyway you can just open the Orneta notepad program first then select the .txt file you wish to open/edit.. Yah dino ganun na lang ginagawa ko since may pambukas naman ng 'Recent' files yung Orneta. Yun naman ang wala sa PocketNotepad. ;)
Guest matanglawin Posted September 27, 2003 Report Posted September 27, 2003 I know some of you guys have this software already...PocketNotepad PocketNotepad...is it a freeware like the OrnetaNotepad?
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted September 27, 2003 Report Posted September 27, 2003 @matanglawin I believe its a freeware ;) Visit here: http://www.tillanosoft.com/ce/pnotepad.html

One last question...does PocketNotepad have the "send via sms" & "send via email" function similar to that of the OrnetaNotepad :?: This is not mentioned/illustrated in the link you posted.
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted September 27, 2003 Report Posted September 27, 2003 @matanglawin ur welcome ;) I dont think meron 'send...' function yung PocketNotepad. Kindly re-check na lang po.
Guest ses Posted September 28, 2003 Report Posted September 28, 2003 I think orneta is better. Did any of you guys tried copying and opening these files in MS Word of Notepad? What is your experience?
