spv software cock up ! help required urgently

Hey this is something new to me, on e moment im using my spv and the next the phone locks up for bout 20 seconds and then restarts ! im thinking weird but ok its just restartin, big mistake, the phone then has ( i think) done a full reset by itself. Then im thinking ok i just have to put all my contacts and software back on, a pain in the arse but its fixable!

WRONG AGAIN

the phone has gone back to all the origanal settings (camper background) and the origanal screen layout. i can access the program menu which i personally changed to make easier and the icons have gone back to their origanal place, but the extra folders that i made are still there. Also smartexplorer and taskmanager are still on the system even though its resetted completly.

When ever i try to open one of the program shortcuts it wont let me, the warning "cannot use appman Make sure the file is not in use or try opening with another application". This happens everytime i try and open contacts, call history, shortcuts, solitaresmart explorer, taskmanager.

And with other programs such as orange update, orange backup, sound manager and picture manager amazingly the warning

" Access denied. the program cannot start because it is not digitally signed with a trusted certificate. please contact your service provider for more information"

Also i can receive text messages but cant compose or start any new ones

i can enter settings but only can see the feilds that i can change (therfore no labels) and on certain pages just numbers, anything i try to change wont save.

the programs that still work are , inbox, internet explorer (but all internet settings are lost), active sync, information, sim manger (but that just locks the fone) , tasks, wm player and msn messenger.

what i dont understand on top of this that if the phone has resseted how come the fone time settings are still correct, programs that ive added like taskmanager and explorer are still there along with folders i'va made, but any games, msgs , contacts , pictures and sounds are gone.

ringing orange didnt really help , they aint got a clue, one smart person says " is there any chance one of your buttons is stuck dwn causing this problem" !!!!!!!! they sent me some sim updates but they aint worked and now i aint got a clue what to do.

any help would be definately appreciated, great fone up until now !

cheers

Sounds like a partial reset. This can happen sometimes if you are messing with the registry.

If you have moved the sortcuts to applications that are on the phone as standard this can sometimes cause a problem too. (talking from experience)

Best thing to do is a hard re-set, get things back to 'out of box' state and start again.

If I were you I would leave all standard icons where they are but anything you add on to the phone feel free to put them where you like.

If you acti-sync your phone you can restore all of your contacts and appointments when you connect.

Hope this helps

It's a partial hard reset, usually caused by a registry or memory error.

There are ways to coax it back to life, but to be honest, i would perform a complete hard reset.

Just turn your phone off or if it won't let you pull the battery out.

Leave for 10 secs, turn phone back on whist holding voice record key.

You will enter boot loader, press action key for a few seconds, then scroll to erase IPSM.

Then once this has 'Passed' re-boot.

That's the only problem.

But hey, at least your phones working.
