Is it possible to charge a spare battery without the phone?

Hi,

Does anyone know if it's possible to charge a spare battery while not in use (many other cell phones have a stand alone charger that can charge just the battery by itself), is it possible with the SPV?

Any hardware hack that can help here?

I don't believe that there are any stand-alone chargers currently on the market for the SPV.

If you were to make some sort of hardware hack, you would have to be very careful not to overcharge the battery, as when the phone is charging the battery, it monitors charge level and temperature to prevent this.

im sure its possible but as cpt_andy said you would have to be very carefull--i mean all you do when chargeing a battery is to stick i slightly higher voltage up it backlwards to put the charge back in.

Why would you want to do this anyway? you can use the phone while its plugged in without the battery and if you have two batterys you could just use the phone to charge them bothfully before going on a trip etc :roll:

You could buy another phone (or even a buggered one with a cracked screen and another charger. But that could be overkill.
