Media(wmv, tones) Location

hi to all!

Is the default location of Ringtones (sounds) is in the Application DataSounds folder? If yes, If I place all my tones in the SD, will it still be seen when you click the SettingsSounds ?

Where is the default location of media to played in Windows Media? Or by default, Windows Media is the one finding your media files stored in IPSM and SD/MMC?

what you mean by QTEK and your previous Smart 1.5? Is it the ROM upgrades?

1. yes. you must place all your ringtones (wav, midi) in that location. if you do not have a sounds folder, just create one. well, actually you can also place it anywhere inside the IPSM/Application Data. we just want to organize so it will be easier to move/remove the ringtone files. the phone wont read your ringtones placed in the sd/mmc card unless you have the QTEK/I-mate rom.

2. you can place your media files anywhere. wmplayer scans all drives for media files before it starts.

with the Qtek or i-Mate ROM upgrade, you can place all your ringtones in the SD card (My DOcuments folder).

but with Smart ROM, you cant. You have to place it in IPSM/Application Data/Sounds

you can upgrade your ROM to Qtek or iMate, just read the other threads in this forum.... look for the topic "Qtek ROM..." and "Copy bootloader without...."

thanks dinoalbert for the info regarding upgrading to other ROMs

btw, is there any side effects of upgrading to Qteq ROMs?

btw, is there any side effects of upgrading to Qtek ROMs?

you can verify all the information on the Qtek thread on this link

basically the drawback is you lose english t9, and it voids your warranty with smart (but you can always go back to Smart's 1.50 before you present it for repair.

btw, welcome to the site
