Im trying to unlock my phone and as such believe I need to allow it to connect to the web but no matter what I try, be it connected to the cradle or just on the desk it comes back with an error saying

Unable to connect. Verify you have netweork coverage and try again.
I have looked around the web and found the following

FIX

All of the changes below take place in the Settings > Data Connections

control panel.

1) Change the "Internet Connection" spinner to Automatic

2) Menu > Edit Connections

3) Open the Dial-Up Connections (choose edit on the Edit Connections screen)

4) Edit "Orange CSD WAP" and change it so it connects to "WAP Network".

Press done twice to get back to the list of connection types.

5) Open the GPRS Connections

6) Edit "Orange WAP" and change it so it connects to "WAP Network". Press

done to save the change, then the home key to leave the control panel.

Thanks to Neil Emms at Microsoft for the definitive instructions here.

You may need to also do this....

1) On your PC - open ActiveSync.

2) Click Options

3) Click "Rules" and ensure that the Pass-Thru is set to use the Internet

but that still gives the same problem - I fear that the settings are messed up :)

anyone able to help

Click on OTA for information on how to unlock and also the link for the Orange developers site.

try using passthrough so you connect via your PC

this can be found in SettingsData Connection

first off check your settings against the ones in the MoDaCo GPRS Thread, under articles i think,

also check that your account is compatable with GPRS (mine wasnt but vodafone upgraded it for me), you'll need to speak to your service provider for this. after that there should be no reason for you not being able to connect (except perhaps signal strength in your area)

hope this helps.
