The ORANGE SPV Car Kit - What on earth is going on??

Hello everyone

Fantastic site!

I have been waiting for 3 weeks to get my SPV Car Kit from Orange installed into my own Car (the Professional Hands free kit).

The Engineer arrived today, and took one look at the kit and advised me that this kit was riddled with problems, namely:

1) Constant buzz when making or receiving calls

2) Echo feedback

3) Does not MUTE the radio

4) A stupid little speaker has to be based and fitting into the car as it cannot use the car speakers!

I paid £200 for this!!! I told the engineer to go away and I am in the process of fighting orange for a full refund. My current car kit mutes the radio and comes out of the car hi-fi speakers! The Engineer spent an hour takling to Orange Tech Support and was told this was not possible!!

So, has anyone got this kit or could recommend a REAL professional Car Kit that DOES what I want it to do!

If the engineer had not been so honest, I would NOT be able to get a refund as the kit would have been fitted!

Coolsmartphone did a review on the car kit and to be honest it's the worst bit of kit I have seen.

It looks like it comes from the early 90's :?

Problem is there is no other kit available at the moment.

Do you have some sort of link to this as I would like to use this as further proof to the complete trash this is!

I have just got off the phone to the Orange shop who now claim they cannot give a refund as the box "has been opened".

So I intend to go straight down there, adn chuck this kit right in this guys mouth.

As I paid with credit card I also intend to advise them of this!

the kit is supplied by ORA and as far as I know it's the only one available.
