Guest gspacedboy Posted September 5, 2003 Report Posted September 5, 2003 I love my spv camera, its not the best camera in the mobile world, but its mine... im always taking shots and posting them onmy web site... However it seems that all good things come to an inevitable end! My camera's colour is buggered, when a shot is taken there are big red blocks of colour and sometimes the colour just disapears... Does anyone know if this problem can be fixed?? Cheers.
Guest cpt_andy Posted September 5, 2003 Report Posted September 5, 2003 sounds like it may be broken. can you post any of the pictures? Cpt. Andy
Guest gspacedboy Posted September 5, 2003 Report Posted September 5, 2003 i cant sync because im at work. although i can email...
Guest gspacedboy Posted September 17, 2003 Report Posted September 17, 2003 Ok, here is a picture taken from my camera... Is there anything i can do to fix it?frontdestb.jpg
Guest cpt_andy Posted September 19, 2003 Report Posted September 19, 2003 Looks like errors in the compression, possibly caused by a courrupt data stream from the camera. I wouldn't have thought this would easily be fixable. If you know anyone else with an SPV you could try you camera in theirs/theirs in yours to check that it is actually the camera not the phone. Guest pisquee Posted September 19, 2003 Report Posted September 19, 2003 Pretty trippy colours there ... Are you sure that you haven't had some crazy DIY show come to "changing rooms" your house?! :-)
Guest idavid Posted September 20, 2003 Report Posted September 20, 2003 you can buy my one off me, i never use it. pm me.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 If you are going to bin the camera I'll take it off your hands I'll have a play ;)
Guest gspacedboy Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 I really dont wanna pay a ton for a new camera from Orange... But if i can get a new one for cheap, that would obviously be good! If i do get a new one, ill part company with this one. Thing is though, my contract runs out soon, and i was planning to get the Spv 2 or C200 what ever its called, but i really want a flip smartphone, (with built in camera!) they are so much better! Any ideas?
Guest fraser Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 Remember to check that it's the camera and not the phone that's buggered. Could be either...do you have problems with ActiveSync at all? You'd need a loan of a camera from a mate to check out where the problem lay.
Guest gspacedboy Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 Thats what i thought to, so i had Orange replace the phone. Same problem. Ahh well. As for ActivSync... Works a treat!
Guest fraser Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 The camera should be covered by warranty as well. It's part of the phone package, so you at the very least get a years waranty on it, by law. Probably not covered under Orange Care though.
Guest gspacedboy Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 Yeah, Orange see it as an accessory, so not covered by O' Care... What am i to do? I guess i'll be waiting either till Spv2 or the something else a little more interesting...
Guest fraser Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 Yeah, no Orange Care on it, so no next-day replacement. It is a part of your phone package, covered by law for at least a year. Send it back and get it repaired. Might take a month or two, so even if you do buy a second-hand replacement, get it fixed anyway.
Guest gspacedboy Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 So Orange should fix it depite the wait, Fantastic... Ill cal them later. See what they say, Although i often find that the operators don't have a clue what they are talking about!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 It may have to be sent to Hays as they are the repair center for the phone.
