How about adding scanning functionality to the SPV?

I’m constantly reading the paper, seeing things of interest that I'd love to add into the calendar, exhibitions, concerts, restaurants etc. but just can't be bothered typing it all out.

Imagine if you could simply run your SPV over the article and 'insert' the text into the calendar or notes?

That would truly make the SPV amazing....

anyone up for making a simple OCR prog? might work, esp with SPV2's built in cam.

Can't say it would be truly amazing, but a useful function.

How about getting rid of the infrared at the top of the unit and replacing it will the scanner?

I was looking at some "Open source" OCR programs in sourceforge.net. I took a couple of pics with the SPV's camera and processed them using the OCR... The problem is SPV's camera isnt that good at capturing text . You cant capture the whole page and if you keep it too close then it appears blurred..

To say the least! ... This is SO special that we will have to wait many years before we see anything near it!
