hi all just got my smart phone, a UK orange e100 and im trying to install the games. I know little about this and would like some help on how to install them. I think part of the problem is the install file on most games is saved as java script so when i open it, it just opens internet exp. with a load of code. plz plz plz can jim fix it :)

If it's a .cab (it'll probably have a winzip icon) open activesync, click "explore", then go to My SmartPhone > IPSM > Windows > Start Menu, and place it into a folder in there. Then hit "Programs" on your phone, go to that folder and run the file by clicking on it. If you have a large storage card its advisable to install applications to there, there isnt much space available on the phone itself.

If its a .exe, first try running it on your PC, if you get an error, cpy it to your phone and run as before, if it does run just follow the instructions.

The first thing I'd recommend is to get a SD (Secure Digital) card of 128MB or more as this will provide a decent amount of space for games, wma files and ring tones.

If you have a storage card then to install games (this is pretty similar to what monolithix said)

Copy the cab file to the storage card by starting activesync, clicking explore then pasting it onto the storage card. After that's done create a shorcut to the cab file, now cut this shortcut and paste it into My SmartPhoneIPSMWindowsStart MenuGames

Then exactly as monolithix said navigate to the folder (Games in this case) on the E100 and select the shortcut to begin installation of the cab file.

There is currently no way of running Java games on the E100 smartphone without firstly obtaining the 2 cab files that Mitac released for their own smartphone. As of yet I've still to obtain those files :)

I unlocked my E100 this way and am enjoying practically arcade perfect versions of PacMan and Space Invaders from the links above as well as an excellent version of Pong (Available if you sign upto Modaco PLUS)
