Guest Paul [MVP] Posted September 8, 2003 Report Posted September 8, 2003 Hey guys, i'm a little concerned that some of the stuff in the Pinoy area would be beneficial to all members, and hence should be posted in the main areas of the site. Thoughts? It's great to see your area being used so well, especially with meets and stuff, but I wonder if Pinoy specific stuff should go in here, else post in the main areas of the site... For example, things like the How To thread, the Voyager comments etc... I'd like to hear your opinions :) P
Guest grifter Posted September 8, 2003 Report Posted September 8, 2003 Hi Paul, I agree with what you're saying. The only problem is that double posts might occur since many Filipinos make is a habit to jump directly to the Pinoy thread rather than sifting through the entire site. ( am guilty of this. hehe...) I guess it's more of familiarity and the fact that questions can be answered faster because of the common geographic location and common telcos. Wil try and post on the main thread if I think of something for all. :) All in all, this is a great site! Cheers man! ;)
Guest dinoalbert Posted September 8, 2003 Report Posted September 8, 2003 I would also agree to that, Paul. As the owner, maybe you could move those threads to the Main forum if applicable. Its just that sometimes we can not help but speak in our own language which might not be appreciated by the other non-pinoy members. Do you think its fine with them if we sometimes speak Filipino with our countrymen in the Main Forum especially if the thread is started by a Pinoy? :)

It would also be an advantage to speak our language to be distinct..... Pinoy Rulez!!!!! ;)
Guest dinoalbert Posted September 8, 2003 Report Posted September 8, 2003 no I dont mean that we SHOULD speak our own language to be distinct. Im just asking permission from Paul that he allow us to sometimes speak Filipino in the main forum. Modaco rules!
Guest rodnav Posted September 8, 2003 Report Posted September 8, 2003 @grifter and dinoalbert, i just knew you 2 would be the first to respond to this thread. @paul, thank you for this great site of yours. it's "simply amazing", pun intended. i'm also as guilty as grifter as i myself usually jump to the pinoy threads immediately. sometimes i post on the help and advice forum and pinoy forum the same topic but i find that replies are faster and more relevant in the pinoy thread probably, as grifter said, because of location, time zones and all that. again thanks :D
Guest dewslat Posted September 8, 2003 Report Posted September 8, 2003 Ok.... we already know that MoDaCo is cool... but MoDaCo's offer about MoDaCo Plus is really out of reach here... There are no softwares and hardware support.. Is there some other way we could join that kind of rank in this remote island we have? ( Of course, dinoalbert is trying very hard to reach his rank right now  ) probably a homeboy could do that.. It is also unfair that contest are exclusive for PLus members. Or at least there are some winners that are arn't Plus Members. Are there any Plus Philipino members here? :)
Guest dinoalbert Posted September 8, 2003 Report Posted September 8, 2003 @dewslat Im no homebody, dude....you dont know me yet. Anyway, there is no competetion here...and I dont care about ranks. Saka March pa kse ako nagsimula dito at saka kahit nasa labas ako gamit ko PocketPC para makapag-internet :)

Guest rodnav Posted September 8, 2003 Report Posted September 8, 2003 i think PAUL made this thread to get feedback, therefore we should refrain from using filipino or any of our dialect in his thread. we shouldn't hijack this thread from him. just my 2 centavos worth
Guest ppcsurfr Posted September 8, 2003 Report Posted September 8, 2003 Guys, I see Paul has a good point here... and while this may be a Filipino community online... it is still just a segment of a bigger group that is MoDaCo. What I see here is probably an opportunity to share whatever we have learned or uncovered. I know many will benefit from it and it will also show our willingness to share our knowledge. Just like the "how to" repository, which I feel that Paul may take a look at too and see if it is fit to be placed in the front page or in the main section of the forum. We all speak english anyway so I don't think it will be very difficult to go back and edit those that make it to the front page or main section for the benefit of all MoDaCo members. Another thing is that we may be able to move topics while retaining the first post as a form of referrence that would link back to moved posts... This means that a moved post will still reflect at least the first post (locked) but the moved post (body) will still be active in its new location. Those are my thoughts... I think all that is needed is for Paul to give the go signal as to which threads will have to be moved. Mabuhay! ~ Carlo

I hope it will be on the Front page.  Mabuhay ang Pinoy! :)
Guest Will Posted September 8, 2003 Report Posted September 8, 2003 Hello guys, I've been working on the FAQ, which appears in it's first release at the top of the forum page. I see you guys have quietly been working on your own!! Please have a look and feel free to post any additions to the faq to me over PM, or i even start a thread on here. Most of the issues in the FAQ are global, but I would appreciate your local service provider specific details where they are needed. Will
