Guest p-Ostal Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 I downloaded the demo version of BubbleBobble... and Tennis Addict... I tried installing them... with their .exe and their .cab files... but somehow it pops up and error message saying that my phone does not have adequate system permission. I dont know if that is because my phone is new? Also, i see some threads about ROMs are they any required ROMs a Mio8380 should install? Another thind is I see some people saying that their phone hes been de-certified... I want to know what that means and how i can get mine de-certified as well... Lastly, If i purchase games off the internet or something... is the Mio8380 considered the SPV? because I almost never seen a website saying sftware is desgined for the Mio... Thanks Alot... For helping a n00b out! Thanks!!! :)
Guest Gorskar Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 The Mitac Mio is software locked, which means that you can only install software on it that has been signed with a digital certificate that has been preinstalled onto your phone by your service provider. All the software in the Orange SPV section of www.handango.com has been signed, but you are taking a gamble buying it because not all of those have been signed with certificates on the mitac Mio. The solution to your problem? Unlock it! Information and the download you need to do this can be found in this thread. Skip to the second page of that thread to find the download you need. Be aware though that flashing your phone could potentially screw it up, and we of course are not responsible for anything you do.
