Guest arunhallan Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 Is it fully legal for me to buy a contract phone, sell the phone as offline and keep the sim to use???
Guest chucky.egg Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 In the UK, yes, but I dont know about anywhere else.
Guest XGEOX Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 In the UK, yes, but I dont know about anywhere else. are you sure? because i thought that technically you didnt actually own the phone until the 12 months is up?
Guest mcwarre Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 I thought that you sign a contract for airtime. If you do (normally for 12 months) then they will sell you a phone at a discounted rate; therefore it is yours straightaway. Any agreement where they 'technically' own the phone until the 12 month point is called a hire-purchase agreement which is subject to various rules. trust me buying a phone is not done via HP. (IMHO) Therefore you can do what you like with a phone; it is yours not anyone elses.
