Guest pisquee Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 Welcome to our new member (i too am very please to have an 'official' rep from Orange here) Would Mr Orange (I guess he gets the deciding vote!) and the rest of the community like to see a dedicated section on the forum for "Ask Mr. Orange" ?
Guest NederSoren Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 ohhh... this guy is getting busy awnsering Qs if we get a forum like that :) And he haven't even bin around yet.. This is promesing :? ;) :D //NederSoren
Guest drblow Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 Are you for real????? :) ;) Please don't try to scare the poor man off before He's even got here!! :D
Guest yoos Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 Just my opinion... yes, but only moderators would transfer posts there so it doesn't get out of control...
Guest pisquee Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 Good idea on the mods moderating what gets posted there - was thinking it would need some system to filter what actually needs posting to Mr Orange, i.e. no point asking him things that are already answered on the forum elsewhere, or can easily be answered by other people here. Obviously the idea of a "Ask Mr Orange" service is a good one, but it needs thinking about, as to the best way of implementing it.
Guest Will Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 Poor Poor Mr Orange.. his life is being planned out, and he has only just started.. Lets see how it goes!! Will
Guest Pagemakers Posted September 12, 2003 Report Posted September 12, 2003 On my company BB, they have a forum where you can ask an official question. The company only are allowed to make replies to the topics, not the rest of the community. That way simple questions get simple (and correct) answers and topics do not go on and on forever. It works very well.
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted September 12, 2003 Report Posted September 12, 2003 Hmmm, may be a good idea, i'll chat to Mr Orange and see what he thinks... P Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest Crispy Posted September 12, 2003 Report Posted September 12, 2003 On my company BB, they have a forum where you can ask an official question. The company only are allowed to make replies to the topics, not the rest of the community. That way simple questions get simple (and correct) answers and topics do not go on and on forever. It works very well. Sounds like a good idea to me! ... Maybe you should even narrow it down to it only being questions aproved by the staff that should be be allowed to be posted in this section, to avoid totally over-spamming the poor guy :)
Guest drblow Posted September 12, 2003 Report Posted September 12, 2003 Or create a kind of gateway to that forum which requires you to do a search before entering???
Guest casper508 Posted September 12, 2003 Report Posted September 12, 2003 Don't think we need a seperate section for this purpose. I think we should wait for his OFFICIAL reply to our earlier questions and then take it from there. Making a whole new section isn't gonna make the mods life any easier. Cas
Guest beersoft Posted September 16, 2003 Report Posted September 16, 2003 we could do A slashdot style ask mr orange thread, and let him answer the top $bignum most popular qustions. my question would be when are they going to make pocketoutlook work as well as pocketoutlook for pocketpc? simple things like not hiding attachments, vcards, delete imap messages propperly, you know normal stuff later owen ohh, this one has dust under the screen later
Guest ajb3000 Posted September 16, 2003 Report Posted September 16, 2003 I thought the idea was for him to just browse the forums and reply to topics as and when he can offer info/advice? More like a knowledgable member than a 'ill just answer questions that you specifically ask me' guy
Guest drblow Posted September 16, 2003 Report Posted September 16, 2003 I think he's already done a runner!!!! ;)
Guest Simon Desser Posted September 16, 2003 Report Posted September 16, 2003 I think he's already done a runner!!!! ;) Mr Orange has spoken  Here
Guest hk Posted September 17, 2003 Report Posted September 17, 2003 In my opinion he should integrate with the forums (as he already is), having to look around the place regularly to see what the issues are everywhere will be a lot more beneficial for him (as he gets a better idea of whats what) and more beneficial for us (for the same reason). I know D is already doing that, just thought I'd throw in my one pence worth.
