Guest mufc Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 the tip of my earphone port has come off and is now stuck in the phone how can i get it out?????????????????????????? help needed asap thanks
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 10, 2003 Report Posted September 10, 2003 You are the second person to report this in a week :? The only suggestion is to talk to Orange about getting Hays to repair it. The problem if they decide it's not a warranty claim then they will charge for repair.
Guest mufc Posted September 11, 2003 Report Posted September 11, 2003 have done so - what r the chances of it being repaired under warranty and will they repair it and charge b4 tellin me
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 11, 2003 Report Posted September 11, 2003 If they believe it's not warranty they will tell you before they do a repair. If you then decide not to get it repaired they will charge you £18 to have the phone sent back to you, or they will bin the phone.
Guest mufc Posted September 12, 2003 Report Posted September 12, 2003 i think i am gonna try and remove the tip of the port with tweezers- the thing is where can i find small tweezers that could fit in there?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 12, 2003 Report Posted September 12, 2003 Try a model shop or chemist they are more of a specialist item.
Guest Lordsmiff Posted September 12, 2003 Report Posted September 12, 2003 Hmmm, I think you'd need a *very* small set of tweezers :) How about a tooth pick with a flat end and a small blob of blutack or something? Of course, then there's the risk of having blutack stuck in there ;-) T.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 12, 2003 Report Posted September 12, 2003 I have various tweezers that are less than 0.5mm :) another place to try (only if you or your works have an account) is RS components. A part number to start you off with is 549-628 but there are various types you can buy.
Guest Lordsmiff Posted September 12, 2003 Report Posted September 12, 2003 Wow :) That's small ;-) Still, it can't be easy getting enough grip to pull it out, especially as the tip is the bit it uses to hold it in ;) (BTW & OT - do you know how many posts I have to make before my newbie status goes? I hate being a newbie ;-) T.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 12, 2003 Report Posted September 12, 2003 not long now, only 5 to go but if you post just to bump your status up a newbie you will stay forever :)
