Guest adi116 Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 The objective of this thread is to share one's idea on how to make lives or business easier through the use of amazing phone, aside of course of being a cellphone or a toy. Just want to share what i've heard from one of my officemates here in Meraco. He said that Smart is offering a proposal for Meralco to use the smartphone as a meter reading device, wherein the meter readers will use the smartphone in replacement of rovers - a device for downloading and uploading meter readings. The idea is really amazing, however, the durability and ruggedness offered by the rover cannot be replaced by the tanager:!:
Guest grifter Posted September 10, 2003 Report Posted September 10, 2003 one of our clients before wanted us to develop smartphone-based apps for use in their inventory monitoring system. But when they saw our quote, nag back out. hehe... namahalan siguro. :)
Guest adi116 Posted September 16, 2003 Report Posted September 16, 2003 Is there any SAP applications to trace exact GPS location? meron kasi akong makukuhanan ng GPS accurate maps, i'm just wandering kung pwede ma-trace ang specific location ko in that GPS map at ma-display sa SAP.
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted September 16, 2003 Report Posted September 16, 2003 ...meron kasi akong makukuhanan ng GPS accurate mapsACCURATE MAPS! ;) adi san po ba pwede makakuha nito? Is there any SAP applications to trace exact GPS location? Global Positioning System....PaPaGO for Windows Smartphone yung name. Screenshots...papago.gif
Guest grifter Posted September 16, 2003 Report Posted September 16, 2003 for that to work, you'd probably need a GPS SDIO module. You'll need a way for your SAP to receive GPS satellite broadcasts.
Guest BrAGoL Posted September 16, 2003 Report Posted September 16, 2003 grifter's right... and AFAIK there's no one manufacturing it at this moment... @adi116 if you can get the accurate maps, be sure that it can be used for the win ce platform... IMO the maps that you can get has a .agf or .dwg file extensions which is suited only for pc windows... correct me guys if i'm wrong...
Guest adi116 Posted September 16, 2003 Report Posted September 16, 2003 Right now under development pa lang yung maps, ang format niya is dwg or dwf. Sa autocad kasi ginagawa, pero alam ko marami namang tools na pang-convert ng autocad drwaings to any format, i'll just inform you pag nakahingi na ko. kaya lang wag kayo masyado mag-expect, di pa talaga kumpleto, pero what i can assure you is GPS accurate ito.;) Sana lang meron na ngang application to trace your exact GPS location. Hirap kasi tumingin sa mapa while driving. It could be easier kung meron ng ganitong apps for SAP.
Wow...you really think Im a programmer? Ang layo sa kinukuha kong course ngayon. Chamba chamba lang po mga ginagawa ko. Any chance of converting those GPS maps into .bmp, .jpg, .gif? Pwede yan dun sa Tube software. Bawal ba pirated? ;) :D
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted September 17, 2003 Report Posted September 17, 2003 I know. It should read 'Bawal pirated!' (without the ba and ?)
Guest chucky.egg Posted September 19, 2003 Report Posted September 19, 2003 Hi guys I'm sorry I cant read "Pinoy" (if thats the right name!) so could anybody translate this thread for me? I'm interested in PaPaGO for the Smartphone, but I cant tell if it needs a GPS interface. There's also this page which has the downloads, but I cant read much of that either! Anybody there that can help me?
Guest adi116 Posted September 20, 2003 Report Posted September 20, 2003 How does papago works? is that similar to tube?
Guest grifter Posted September 20, 2003 Report Posted September 20, 2003 based on what i saw on the papago site, i think there are 2 versions: 1. requires an SDIO GPS module (pictured in the site) 2. a map only version (similar to tube)
Guest adi116 Posted September 20, 2003 Report Posted September 20, 2003 Thanks grifter. I hope someday there will be SDIO GPS module available for smartphones.
Guest adi116 Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 I wonder if this one will work on our SAP: http://www.findme.com.ph/_FindMe_Maps_Download.htm# there's a download version for IPAQ. I already e-mailed them, requesting to develop a version for our SAP, pero baka sakaling itong for Pocket PC gumana. any comments?
Guest rodnav Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 @ adi baka yung cemail.vol is very large na, that's the one with SMS and email messages, that's why you've ran out of IPSM space.
Guest sonborj Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 @rodnav how do u edit the vol file ba? can it be opened? Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest rodnav Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 there's a program called dbview, it's the program they used to get rid of the phantom sms. unfortunately the database can't be migrated to our desktops.
I tried installing pocket pc apps to my SAP, yung iba gumagana, yung iba hindi. Dito sa case na to, when i tried installing it thru my PC, na-complete niya. Is there a way na ma-extract yung cab file from the exe file para dun ko i-copy sa storage yung cab then try to install again?
Anyway, I e-mailed the developers, hoping that they would grant my request. I'll just keep you informed regarding the developments. I'll post it here pag hawak ko na! ;)
Guest rodnav Posted October 9, 2003 Report Posted October 9, 2003 @adi that's cool. i mean about the gps maps. maybe there'll be better other maps to follow. too bad about the software though.
Guest adi116 Posted October 13, 2003 Report Posted October 13, 2003 @ all pinoy posters: Tulungan nyo naman ako mangulit dito: http://www.findme.com.ph/_FindMe_CnS.htm request nyo yung version nila for smart amazing phone. Thanks!
Guest aldousbee Posted October 15, 2003 Report Posted October 15, 2003 hmmm.. pwede ring paperweight and SAP... very expensive paperweight that is.... (mine is right now)
