Guest maxfield Posted September 10, 2003 Report Posted September 10, 2003 Hope you may be able to help :? I had an SPV (unlocked) with all current updates. Whilst using the camera I accidently clicked volume button and the spv locked up totaly. I had to remove the battery in the end to shut the phone down. On restart the phone had reset its self to the orange set up when I purchased it the sounds, home screen etc had all reset. All of my tones, themes and software are still on the phone but all the registered software is not anymore and the phone was locked again. The unistall software list has also been erased. I have unlocked the phone again and registered all my software but still problems the phone does not switch off - when you turn off the phone the Smartphone 2002 screen comes on but stays on the phone never actualy shuts down just the back light goes off. Once in this state you can not start it up again I have had to result in removing the battery again but after restart still the same problem. Please help - any ideas :?:
Guest James Posted September 10, 2003 Report Posted September 10, 2003 welcome to the site mate..... you could try a hard reset... this will factory reset the phone again (but properly)
Guest maxfield Posted September 10, 2003 Report Posted September 10, 2003 Thanks Its now got worse  it won’t get past sunset screen at start up. Going to have a go at a hard reset. Thanks for your help.
Guest maxfield Posted September 10, 2003 Report Posted September 10, 2003 Hard reset done after three tries :? Phone is restored back to original and has kept the ROM upgrade. All seems to be working and very fast! :) I am going to be very choosy what software I put back on! Might not even unlock it  Long live the Smartphone
Guest James Posted September 10, 2003 Report Posted September 10, 2003 you wont get ANY problems unlocking it...
Guest vijay555 Posted September 10, 2003 Report Posted September 10, 2003 Unlock it, but make an IPSM backup from time to time, just in case. Random hard resets/re-locks are the result of registry corruption and the phone rebuilding itself like some kind of Terminator... it happens, so only thing to do is make regular IPSM backups... (if you don't know what that means, search of 0.93 bootloader) V
