Newbie site?

Is there a newbie site out there that covers the various aspects of the SPV's without diving into the mor advanced discussions?

I was thinking an explanation of what all the different customising actually means and does, tweaks, skins, homepages, ringtones etc. It can be very difficult to weed out simple info on a board like this if you don't know what to search for, or what a term actually means.

I could do with one really :)

Yep - the FAQ does have some very good stuff. However, how about things like:

using MIDI for ringtones (it has it's advantages) - format, note range, velocity etc. (I've been having a look at this you see :) )

skins and themes - the difference, how to apply them, how to make them, etc

plugins - what they are, how to apply them, how to remove them etc

bootloader - what it is and does

Can't think of anything else offhand, but I'm sure there are more. I know a lot of this can be found using searches, but it's very helpful to be able to go to one place and get info like this - it get's you into the flow of of the discussions much, much quicker.
