Guest Saif Posted September 10, 2003 Report Posted September 10, 2003 Whats most important in a handset to you? What influences your purchase the most? Many thanks for taking the time to look in. Cheers. Saif.
Guest morpheus2702 Posted September 10, 2003 Report Posted September 10, 2003 Saif, I'm not sure if your wording is right, but I buy a handset based on its functionality, what it can do. You could interpret this as innovation to degree, but in the SPVs case its really a collection of existing technologies, rather than anything ground-shaking. Cheers
Guest chucky.egg Posted September 10, 2003 Report Posted September 10, 2003 B and C for me (Assuming existing technologies in one device count as innovation) The device has to do something "interesting", but also has to be practical for me to carry and use
Guest Mr_Protozoa Posted September 10, 2003 Report Posted September 10, 2003 I've only ever purchased phones if they have a technological edge over the competition. MP3 was the biggest pull for me. I can't be bothered with a proper walkman, and a SPV with a big SD is good enough for me since all my music is mp3 nowerdays. The large colour screen and raw power were an influance too. esp now lots of additional software is avalible. The size isn't too much of an issue for me, as long as the size increase is balanced by a tech increase.
Guest Tomchap Posted September 10, 2003 Report Posted September 10, 2003 This is my first post so here goes! Been a member for months tho! ;) I like the functionality of the SPV and the fact it can do more that most phones out there, would prefer it to be more reliable tho but the ability to update the phone with improved software is great, i suppose its like a PC! The more you customise it the better it gets and with the SPV at least you can!!! I have owned every make of phone that has been out yet instead of changing my phone every 3 - 6 months i have stuck with the SPV. The fact that the SPV is so like a PC, with the Contacts (sync with outlook is handy) and the fact that the phone has memory and can save sooo many text messages and contacts is great. MP3s are a must to, so convienent. Looking forward to the possiblity of the SPV2, and as soon as thats out im sure i will get it, other than that the SPV is the best phone ive every had and its great that it does almost everything so im sticking to it! (Until the SPV2 that is!!) :) I'm hoping! Hope i have been of some help!
Guest squall Posted September 10, 2003 Report Posted September 10, 2003 i look for many things, but main thing is that its a decent phone. something the spv has suffered of from time to time..
Guest Saif Posted September 10, 2003 Report Posted September 10, 2003 many thanks for your feedback.... much appreciated.
Guest spacemonkey Posted September 11, 2003 Report Posted September 11, 2003 It's got to be a practical useable device. I have got in early on the M$ smartphone thing because it looked (and is) just that, a very practical, well designed operating system. At the time I purchased it, it was innovative, but that was just luck. Even if it doesn't innovate heavily I think my next few phones will almost definitely still be smartphone 200X because of it practical and useable design features.
Guest chucky.egg Posted September 11, 2003 Report Posted September 11, 2003 The large colour screen and raw power were an influance too Raw power? What sort of SPV do you have?
Guest Saif Posted September 11, 2003 Report Posted September 11, 2003 Raw power? What sort of SPV do you have? LOL..... I think it is all relative to the previously owned handset.... cheers...
Guest James Posted September 11, 2003 Report Posted September 11, 2003 i voted B. The innovation in the handset but thinking about it more i would think the 'A: How it looks' would have a BIG part in my buying a handset... i would NOT buy a flip up phone.
Guest rintys5 Posted September 11, 2003 Report Posted September 11, 2003 I voted G. It's the functionality and features that I go for.
Guest Saif Posted September 13, 2003 Report Posted September 13, 2003 Many thanks to those that are voting.... But 140 odd views and only 27 votes?!?!?!?! Please.... If you are taking the time to look in then a couple more clicks to vote would be very much appreciated. Many thanks again. Saif
