Lost 'my Documents' folder but still occupies space! Help!

Something very unusual happened to my SPV, my 'my documents' folder suddenly disappeard while i was using Smart Explorer EN as i was trying to Zip a wav file that i received thru Ir. i didn't notice exactly what happend 'coz i put the phone down while the file is being Zipped, and when i checked, the zip file was there but i decided to delete it since it doesn't compress the file as much as i expected. and after that, BOOM! my 'my docs' folder and everything inside was gone!. and there's more! it's still occupying space in my SPV's internal memory!

here's what i did: 1.>i used the 'find' tool look for the folder. (in case it was moved to a different folder) .. but no luck ..

2.> i manually opened every folder in my IPSM. .. no luck ..

3.> i searched for zip files. (in case my folder was accidentally zipped) .. still no luck ..

help!

what happend with my files??? where did it go???

how can i free up the space that's being occupied by a 'ghost'???

might sound dumb but, have you tried restarting the phone?

yup! i did that many times already, still nothing happens. i really need to get my lost memory back 'coz i don't have a memory card yet. it's really odd. you guys know any similar incident?

If you can't find the culprit the only option is to do a Hard Reset,

are you sure it was that folder that was taking up all the space and not anything like

IPSMMAPI this is where your sent SMS and emails are kept, this can take up a lot of space.

Try recording a voice message or doing something that will save to the My Docs folder - maybe it will reappear :)

i've also done the hard reset but its no use.. the folder reappeared after a couple of resets but it's empty and file size is ZERO! i immediately used task manager to check my memory, that's when i knew that have a problem.. i don't care about the files that i lost 'coz i have back-ups.. i just want to get my lost memory back..

anymore suggestions guys...?

Are you performing a hard reset, or just rebooting the phone?

Hard reset = selecting option 8 in the bootloader?

If the memory is still missing after that.... :shock:

EDIT: just a thought there was a bug in one of the 'file manager/task manager' applications that renamed folders to files? which app version do you have..??
