Guest simonbratt99 Posted September 11, 2003 Report Posted September 11, 2003 is there a txt reader in the phone, i cant see one. id like to write some notes like you can in notepad on the PC. but if i put the txt files on the phone, will it know what they are? Also it would be nice to maybe get a 'book' in smartphone format to read in those moments of bordom (on the loo). i know the text is small (smaller the better) but ma eyes a 20/20 :-) are there any smartphone books?
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted September 11, 2003 Report Posted September 11, 2003 As for notepad, there is an excellent app called Orneta Notepad (www.orneta.com) that has a bunch of features and will do pretty much anything you want to do with a .txt file! And for books - there are a few readers. Personally I use Orneta Reader (www.orneta.com again) - the freeware version only reads .txt files - but you can download books in .txt files on the net - so that's more than enough for me! The full version supports other formats, and is really cheap.
Guest simonbratt99 Posted September 11, 2003 Report Posted September 11, 2003 ah ha excellent, i will check that out tonight, cheers. :)
Guest muff Posted September 11, 2003 Report Posted September 11, 2003 was also one called NotBad - by Mboden not sure if it's still around though, try searching
Guest Dooks Posted September 12, 2003 Report Posted September 12, 2003 Vexxon editor pro would be good if it didn't keep hanging on me
Guest vijay555 Posted September 12, 2003 Report Posted September 12, 2003 For books, i've found the most all round useful app for SPV to be Repligo. Can take all PC printable work with you (so load up LOTR into word, print out a few pages to repligo, and you've got a couple o' chapters nicely clear-typed to keep you happy on the tube) I use Orneta Notepad for txt. does the job fine. Guest BrAGoL Posted September 13, 2003 Report Posted September 13, 2003 i also use Orneta Notepad... works fine with me...
Guest smittyofdhs Posted November 5, 2003 Report Posted November 5, 2003 here's another free one...pocketnotepad. http://www.handango.com/PlatformProductDet...tSearch=notepad
Guest midnightman Posted February 25, 2004 Report Posted February 25, 2004 but should'nt microsoft be the one to release repligo for smartphone for free??? cause the windows program has the file viewer for all formats right?? instead of making us buy one they should release it for free?
Guest Palindrome Posted February 25, 2004 Report Posted February 25, 2004 Personally I find both free Orneta products the best there is at the moment, Notepad and Reader.
