Guest simonbratt99 Posted September 11, 2003 Report Posted September 11, 2003 Surely someones thought of this... What happens if i  accidently delete some systems files? i havent..but it must happen to someone. With a PC you get a 'restore' disk, would be nice to do that to this phone i can imagine in the future. As we all mess around with them ? si
Guest Lordsmiff Posted September 11, 2003 Report Posted September 11, 2003 All the systems files are stored in the ROM so you can't delete them and screw it up. The worst thing you can do is mess the IPSM (which is the user data folder for shortcuts, apps, settings etc.) and have to do a hard reset. This will default the phone back to the shipping condition and you're up and running again :) As long as you have your contacts either sync'd or backed up ;-) T.
Guest simonbratt99 Posted September 11, 2003 Report Posted September 11, 2003 woohoo excellent news... So a hard reset puts it right back to day 1 (i sync all ma contacts n stuff) er..my 'm8' has screwed his up, stupid bloke.. so how do you do a hard reset?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 11, 2003 Report Posted September 11, 2003 Normally just switching the phone off then back on again can help, just depends which files you delete. What can screw the phone up is playing with the registry.
Guest simonbratt99 Posted September 11, 2003 Report Posted September 11, 2003 it was just seeing all the dll's n things i thought...ah id better not accidently delete one of those cheers for a v quick reply
