Unable to access forum via my ISP!!!

Looking for help folks.

For the past few days when I try to access MoDaCo forum using my ISP, with unmetered access, I cannot. I keep getting "The page cannot be displayed blah, blah, blah". The forum index page is set up as my home page on internet explorer and I can access other websites.

Yet when I log on using my alternative ISP (pay as you use) I can access the site from the internet explorer home page :? :? .

I have checked with my ISP and the site is not blocked and they can access it from their PC.

I have deleted all my cookies and even tried a system restore, all to no avail.

I am completely stumped and would appreciate any help.

Thanks,

davy.

P.S. not sure if this should be here or in off topic.

Do you have any proxy settings configured in your browser?

Go to Tools-->Internet Options-->Connections-->LAN Settings and let us know what the details are in there...

Also, you could try having a look at the security settings while you're there (Tools-->Internet Options-->Security)

Do you run anything like Norton Internet Security or some other firewall software (Black Ice Defender or Zone Alarm)?

Nothing set in LAN settings.

Security settings are set to medium.

XP firewall is activated.

Thanks,

You could try running the shields up thing at www.grc.com - it will tell you if you're ISP is running a transparent proxy...who's your ISP btw?

It's a local cable company called Omne. (my pay as you use ISP is onetel)

Have to come off line for an hour or so now as friends just dropped in.

Thanks again for the help,

Tried the shields up thing and results are as below (whatever it means)

Accept: image/gif, image/x-xbitmap, image/jpeg, image/pjpeg, application/x-shockwave-flash, */*

Accept-Language: en-gb

Connection: Keep-Alive

Host: grc.com

Referer: https://grc.com/x/ne.dll?rh1dkyd2

User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; 1.32.2 )

Content-Length: 26

Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded

Accept-Encoding: gzip, deflate

Cache-Control: no-cache

Tried connecting with firewall disabled and also set up new network connection, with no joy.

Although my ISP says it is not a problem with their service I am stumped as to what else could be causing this.

im having similar problems with my NTL broadband--sometimes some pages are not available --but if i use a proxy they befcome available again (ive tested this lots) i think it has something to do with a problem in the transparent cache on port 80--so if you cant access a page try using a proxy that may help :)
