Guest Myke Posted September 15, 2003 Report Posted September 15, 2003 here's a fascinating program called Doberman BMS. " Doberman Security and Automation has, as the name suggests, two major parts of functionality. The first part is security. Using a supported home automation computer interface such as the X10 CM11a computer interface and motion sensors supported by the interface, such as X10 passive IR motion detectors (Hawkeye, etc.,) Doberman can help deter intruders and warn you of possible breakin by sounding alarms and sending email messages to up to four addresses (work, pager, celularphone, etc.). Doberman supports four alarms types, from security and fire to flood and temperature. Connect a security camera for added security. The second peice of major functionality is Home Automation. Doberman can monitor lamps, heating / cooling and other devices being turned on and off and, using the visual macro builder (Action Spider) and the Lighting Effect Wizard. Doberman also acts as a server for an HTML automation interface as well as serving to smart clients such as touchscreen TabletPC, PocketPC, Smartphones, etc. "
